This will explain how to configure macOS to use the eduroam network. This example uses macOS 10.12 (Sierra), but should work on any recent release of macOS/OS X. Older versions of OS X used the term 'AirPort' instead of Wi-Fi, so if your version of OS X uses AirPort you can substitute the word AirPort for any occurrence of Wi-Fi in this guide.

Important Note: If you have previously conencted your device to the GTwifi, GTother, or GTvisitor networks, you should delete these wireless configurations prior to joining the eduroam network. Only one GT network should be configured on any device at a given time. Please refer to this troubleshooting guide for help removing previous wireless configurations on macOS/OS X.

1. Make sure Wi-Fi is on: Click on the Wi-Fi icon in the upper right-hand corner of the menu bar. If the first line says If the first line says 'Wi-Fi: Off', turn Wi-Fi on by selecting 'Turn Wi-Fi On'.

2. From the Wi-Fi menu, you should see eduroam listed as an available network. Select eduroam to join the network.

3. You will be prompted with a dialog box to login to the network. Configure each setting as follows:

   • Mode: Automatic

   • Username: Your username will be in the form of @. For local GT users your institution username will be your GT Account username and your institution domain will be gatech.edu (e.g. gpburdell33@gatech.edu).

   • Password: Your password will be your instiutuion password. For local GT users, use your GT Account password.

4. Select the 'Join' button to connect to the network.

5. If prompted to accept the certificate, click 'Continue'.

6. If prompted for credentials to modify the Certificate Trust, use the credentials for logging into your computer, and click 'Update settings'.

7. You should now be connected.
